This is basically my final year in college.

OH BOY. And it’s still 12 minutes until seven! I managed to recreate my interactive flash, and it turned out much better the second time than the first (though still pret-ty amateur). It took a bit less than three hours instead of four this time, so that’s good.

I attempted sound, failed, and hope you don’t mind I’m abandoning any more attempts in hopes of getting two hours of sleep. (Sorry, Leon. Maybe over break I’ll revisit it…)

MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH

As a result of re-starting my entire project, just figured out why I couldn’t make more than one button work. This is good, maybe!

I’ll just have to go on a stimulant hunt tomorrow afternoon.

LEON, FOR YOUR REFERENCE: the problem I had with my buttons was that I was trying to code for multiple buttons within one frame, all in a row in the actionscript. I didn’t realize that as the frames play, you put new actions in new frames (like new tweens have to go in new keyframes…)

It’s really too bad it took me three weeks to figure that out, and now class will begin in five hours and 34 minutes.

No project is complete

without Flash excitedly and completely and unexpectedly crashing.

It’s quite unfortunate that I did not learn from this occurrence in my last project (when it quit after two hours of work), because this time I lost four hours of work. At least most of that time was trouble shooting? Good thing it’s only 4:15 am, and I don’t have other finals to work on.

(Sigh.) So my poor saving skills have again left me with very little, very close to the deadline. I’m left with a choice to abandon and surrender, or re-live the past four hours of my life again. I’d still have an hour to sleep?

Well, as a status update, it wasn’t going that well anyway. I could only get one button to work in terms of moving the viewer from one movieclip to another. As an attempt to mask my lacking ability, I then created buttons that had reveals with the on-click (as in, you continued reading text by clicking each button). Yes, it was as lame as it sounds. BUT it was an attempt to be creative…?

I’m going to get back to working, now.

you ain’t gettin’ any younger.

I doubt this video was made in flash… but there are a lot of parts to it that could be re-created in flash. It makes me reeeally want to use video for part of my last animation, but I’m not sure if I have the time to make everything work. I might take some short videos this weekend to try to incorporate….
